FOREWORD to Spun Gold: Reading Spun Gold, it’s as if you’re being taken ever so gently by a loving hand, and led to a totally wondrous place – your very Self.
The beauty of poetry is that it takes you off the well-worn path of rational, linear thinking. Maren’s work wisely and intuitively uses this to take you deeply into the Pathless.
There is clear pointing throughout, yes, but that’s not all. As one line leads to another, there is the added excitement that you don’t know where you’re going next.
Yes, the Pathless is fun! There is always a wise surprise waiting at the next turn of phrase. Yet somehow, this innocent, childlike anticipation of what’s-going-to-happen-next? is imbued with a joyous, confident certainty and the authority of Truth. You’re being taken on a guided tour of the Magnificence you are, by one who is intimately familiar.
Yet your guide is aware that this “place” is so ever- new and fresh, there’s no repetition, no way of knowing what will be next to arise.
If Life could talk and rejoice in Itself, it seems this is what Life would say. It may sound like a cliché, but this is not spiritual cola – it is like fine wine, and the best way to appreciate it is to savor it slowly. Don’t be in a rush, even though each line beckons you on.
Hint: After reading Spun Gold, be sure to read to the Postscript for a wonderful quote from Lillian de Waters, and Maren’s lucid description of where the writing is ‘coming from’… it will certainly add to the enjoyment when going back and reading the poems again in this light!

“I am very pleased to announce that I was invited to speak at this year’s Science and Nonduality Conference. The Conference is October 20-24 in San Rafael, CA at the Embassy Suites hotel.
My talk will be on Infinity and how the nondual meaning of Infinity provides a new perspective from which some of today’s biggest scientific questions can be answered in a new way.
The Infinity talk is scheduled for Saturday Oct. 23 at 2pm. If you’re already planning to attend, it would be great to see you there…or if you live in the area, you might want to stop by.
